I guess it was just a matter of time before Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra did something dumb. After all, it’s been 7 or 8 months since he took over. Screwing up is in Hartford’s political DNA. Maybe it’s in the plumbing. Someone should check city hall’s pipes. Those folks down there may all be suffering from lead poisoning.
His horrible timing of killing the promotion of Assistant Superintendent Christina Kishimoto to superintendent was a blunder that will cost a city who can’t afford it close to a $100,000 for an unnecessary national search. That’s OK, I have faith that the mayor and the city council will somehow undo everything retiring Superintendent Steven Adamowski did.
Bottom line, most Hartford politicians can’t handle success. The people who run the city are unprepared for it. None of the power brokers know how to manage a thriving city, and God knows, they want to stay in power. It seems to be more important than anything else.
