I love it when Sour Krauthammer writes a column about everything that’s wrong with liberals or what he thinks President Obama is going to do with his “liberal” agenda. In the process, he enumerates everything I like about the liberal point of view!
It just proves to me once again that at its most essential, there are two ways to view the world. Both are viable and important to human survival. Krauthammer looks at a situation and says, “This is bad.” I can look at it and say, “This is good.” We’re both right, of course. What is missing is someone to make it work, someone to bridge the middle between the different points of view. As long as their points of view aren’t extreme, people can solve any problem. The trouble is that one side, the Republicans, are dominated and guided by an extreme element unwilling to compromise. Even among lifelong Republicans, the element is recognized as extreme.
There are plenty of people to bridge the middle in the GOP. They’re called moderates. They need to come out of hiding and reclaim their Grand Old Party.
