Englehart’s View by Bob Englehart
I should’ve paid more attention to Mitt Romney when he was the governor next door, but there was nothing remarkable about him. He was a Northeast moderate Republican, something fairly common here in the region that birthed the Constitution of the United States.
Most of the Republicans in New England are moderate, but they seem conservative when compared to the tree-hugging, radical, vegan, pot-smoking Democrats in the region. However, we’re all, Democrat and Republican alike, a bunch of wild-eyed Northeast liberals as far as the tea party in the heartland is concerned. They have no powers of discernment anyway, so we don’t really care what they think.
I suspect that Connecticut is 70 percent liberal Democrat and about 30 percent conservative Republican. No wonder I feel right at home.
