Englehart’s View by Bob Englehart
What is it with second terms? I’m beginning to think that maybe the president should be term-limited to one six-year stint in the White House. Something happens to human beings when they are granted the power a president of the United States has. His first term is devoted to being re-elected, so everything is moderated, but when the pres has nothing to lose in a second term, the potential for bigger trouble than usual brews every day.
It seems President Obama‘s administration has embarked on a journey to undo all the good it has done by screwing up big time. Is the president intentionally alienating all his supporters? Is it his plan to ease our pain of his leaving in 2016 by making us loathe him to the point where we’ll be glad to see him go? Just as well. I’ve never felt completely comfortable liking the president as I have the past four years. I don’t care who you are or what you believe in, you can never trust a politician.
This whole thing looks like harassment. This stuff is something done in other countries without a free press. The fact that the Hartford office of the Associated Press was targeted along with other locations brings home the outrage. Obama has two and a half years to go. Between this and the IRS targeting conservative groups, what more trouble can his administration get into? Let your imagination run amok because whatever you conjure up will probably happen.
