Two churches gave me the opportunity to hold my popular Sunday school cartoon workshop sessions with on their respective premises in New York City.
First, it was with ALCC Glory Tabernacle in West Hempstead and ALCC Winners House in Brooklyn. I was able to engage children at the two churches, teaching them the Bible using cartoons. It was also an opportunity to enlighten and educate children about the achievements of Black people living in diaspora with my Black History Comic, OUR ROOTS.
Pastors Festus and Anthonia Adeyeye of Winners House and Pastors Julius, and Rita Ogunnaya of Glory House, saw this as a creative seed sowed into the lives of the children, who fondly called me “Mr Cartoonist.” The attendance proved how much cartoons can attract children.
