The history of Nigeria is incomplete without Lagos, the commercial nerve Centre of Nigeria.
One of the most populous cities in Africa, Lagos has always been a destination point for many through the years. It was also once the capital of Nigeria. Kings, educationists, politicians, journalists, lawyers, leaders, freedom fighters, business men and women and landmarks have all contributed to the history of Lagos.
Lagos also has its own share of slave trade history. Spirit of Lagos comic is drawn and produced to educate in schools, and libraries and also educate the enthused about the history of Lagos. The whole purpose of the comic is the extract lessons from history in four dimensions of Spirit of Lagos: social justice, civic responsibility, citizenship and neighborliness, for the purpose of behavior modeling.
The project director of Spirit of Lagos is Mr. Olaniyi Omotoso, who continues to display passion for the re-birth of a safe Lagos, and who believes raising awareness through education, information and positive images is essential. I am glad I was called upon to produce this historical comic highlighting the rich history of Lagos.
