Subject: Your work

Your cartoons are well drawn and have their merits. I'm not a ditto head
but I do agree with a lot of what rush has to say. Let's just say that I
think that government in general has gone to far into my life. It is a
sobering thought, at least to me, that no one on earth can be born in any
place that is NOT controlled by some group that he or she had no say in
choosing. It is also impossible to find any place on earth that is not
under the influence of some body politic. Yeah, I think I'll keep Rush,
but I still can appreciate your cartoons!

Hi.
I have an anti-Rush newsletter.
I'm on issue 43 and have about 75 subscribers.
It's all in good fun, of course.
We don't take anything too seriously
except the cyst on Rush's ass that kept him
from fighting in Vietnam.

I like your cartooning style - for whatever that's worth. Yeah - Rush does look a bit more like Oscar Wyatt, Jr. (Texas "Baron") rather than Rush Limbaugh. AND, I keep having this sneaky feeling that Dolphins have at least TWICE the brain power of humans (have you never heard, big things come in small packages??) Otherwise, cute 'toons (for a liberal!!) heh heh heh

hello
just surfing the net when I noticed your cartoons. I love the
one on Rush Limbaugh. He's a big Fat slob. Keep up the good work.

Daryl,

I just checked out the new additions on page.
They are all great !!! Even those the tribune did not want.

I particularly liked the frames playin' with Rush.

If you get a chance you might want to pay attention to the
winner Congresswoman we elected up here; Helen Chenoweth.

One of her campaign slogans was:
Salmon runs are obviously not threatened,
you can go to Safeway and buy all you want.

Thanks,
Dave

Subject: Satirical treatment of a satirist

It's a shame that Rush and his flock can't take what they are fond of
dispensing. Apart from the first cartoon on Rush's late visit to the
registrar, I didn't care for Daryl's work. But he has as much right as
Rush does to make fun of people on the basis of their physical
characteristics. Limbaugh's sad attempts at humor using Robert Reich's
height, Donna Shalala's appearance, and so on are in even less taste than
the two cartoons focusing on Rush's body/brain. And anyone who joined
Rush in laughing at his joke likening Chelsea Clinton to a dog has no
business complaining here -- or anywhere Rush is treated to a bit of his
own medicine.

As for the first cartoon -- it's terrific. Rush smoked dope, evaded
military service, divorced his first two wives, couldn't make it through
a year of college, and comes from an underprivileged background
(grandfather dominated the local GOP as did his father, both of whom
were also well-off attorneys), but has the unmitigated gaul to criticize
Clinton and "others"? As an entertainer, Rush is entitled to whatever
character deficincies he has, but few entertainers hold themselves up as
role models for America's youth (though, unfortunately, others sometimes
do).

Cool letter --except for the "I didn't care for Daryl's work" part.

Daryl,
Thanks for posting my comments. Limbaugh certainly wouldn't give
space to his critics.
My criticism was only of two of the three cartoons on the
Limbaugh page, not of your other TRUE cartoons, which I only looked at
after writing my message. I really liked them and wish the LA Times
carried them...

Subject: Rush Limbaugh is usually right

Hello people. I have listened to Rush limbaugh for less than a year
now, I've only seen his show until he resigned from, and never heard his
radio show. It seems to me, there is a lot of liberals out there that
fail to understand what it means to be conservative, paotrioctic.
Why
do you guys want more taxes? No, I heard that BEFORE I started listening
to Rush. The one thing I've noticed about a lot of liberals, is they
all seem to think they're on the right side, being very open to all, and
can catch things most people miss. Nothing in this world is more
ignorant, and foolish than a liberal who thinks so.

About evolution. Now, I'm not necassarily sure its not true, but for
now I believe there is a God, who created this world. Why? Simple
logic. Creationism has at least some evidence it is true. Evolution
has none. Consider this: Every bit of 'evidence' found to prove
evolution, well, couldn't it have just evolved there? I mean, if
something so complicated as a human can evolve, why can't something so
simple as a skull somewhat shaped differently than human nowadays. At
least there is some evidence the bible is true, some facts have been
proven, cities found. Everything in evolution cancels it self out.

I believe the Government is completely overstepping its bounds. I saw
on some news show some lady complaining, "oh, the government should put
regualtions on these eggs because they have bacteria in them and people
could die. Why is the governement help us? They're killing us."
lost....

The governement was NOT meant to do that. If the government did that,
they would be way past the limits. Well gotto go.
I'd like to say more sometime, but if you would like to mail me, my
address is:
mailto:joeos19@skypoint.com
to agree with me, or disagree, and perhaps prove me wrong, we'll see;
please do so. Thank you.

I am among those who fail to understand what it means to be "paotrioctic" --but I think your evolution logic is pretty cool, I like that part about the evidence evolving.
