Please document your lie about Rush "ridiculing Chelsea Clinton's appearance." You can't, because he has NEVER DONE IT. This is just another example of liberalism's basic canon: "Never let the truth interfer with a good character assassination."

I'm old enough to have seen America when it was great. Today it's only a shell of what it once was in the '30's '40's and '50's. Like the boiling frog ( you do know about the boiling frog story I hope- sorry I forgot you can't even read your own diploma anymore, wonderful generation!) anyway you will lose your freedom along with everything else, you're too stupid to even know it! I'm glad this is happening since this is the only way you people will turn back to God. You know, a "Fox hole conversion!". Why do I listen to Rush, because he says what I've been thinking for a long time. Used to be angry at the way the country was letting ruinous Liberals destroy this country. I now know that it's God's will, and they are His instrument; His hand of protection will be taken away. God help this country when He does. Your jeering laughter will be turned into wailing, and don't say you don't deserve it. Take heed, and remember this prediction when all around you collapses. People get the government they deserve!

oh well, *sigh*...I'll give you another year or two to catch up, but of course, we true vanguards will be onto something else by then...keeping you posted (albeit a bit on the late side...)

having Phun in Phat land...wish you were here but glad you are not...

Thanks for that "couple of years;" I'm way behind.

Nice Cartoons...I'm an avid Rush Fan, for the most part because I have found most conservative tenets are based in reason (comparatively speaking) and Rush integrates a well-developed sense of humor as a part of his presentation. Rush is generally less pointed (and personal) than the cartoons on your site, however, I applaud your most irreverent sense of humor. I enjoy the ongoing liberal-conservative debate...especially when those debating don't take themselves too seriously. We all could gain more perspective on our views by stepping back and laughing at ourselves from time to time. Thanks for the perspective.

Bill

Reason? You're joking, right? Conservatives are most interested in our "moral decline." You could argue that their "tenets" are based on "faith" --or a perverse drive to impose their value system on others.

Excuse me now, I've got some flags to burn, needles or condoms to distribute and medical marijuana to smoke with my gay partner.

Hi Daryl;

I thought that I would pay a visit to your Rush Page. Was very impressed with some of the cartoon work rendered by you.

The defensive attitude of Limbaugh's supporters was for me a little scary. I find I often agree with what the man has to say but for the most part he's clearly a mean-spirited so and so and every jab thrown at him is well deserved.

A lot of the messages drew comparisons between Rush and the president. I found this particularly interesting. The fundamental diference between the two men, as I see it, (speaking as an outside observer from Canada), is that although both men are quite bright and extremely articulate at expressing their views, many of which deserve serious thought, only Clinton seems have any genuine compassion. Although Clinton may be a liar and have an over active libido I nevertheles sense that he gives a damn and that he has tried to make a real difference. I don't see this in Limbaugh. That man is Mean.

Yours truly,
George Reynolds

re-election.Rush is a fat, pompous jerk, and I stopped listening to him.Rush pretends to be a blue collar working person, but he always sticks up for the rich and powerful.By the way, what happened to his TV show?,did the network have goood sense and cancel it?

Cagle, your niches on the web are out of sight. I'm an amatuer artist, self taught, (truly amatuer). Your Rush caracatures are excellent. In my opinion he is a windbag who caters to the basest emotions and thoughts of some of the most insufferable people in this country. Racism, sexism, anti -intellectualism are the vehicles he uses to connect to the darkest orifices of America. This is a man who told the country he couldnt serve in Vietnam because of a football injury. Well he never played football and in my opinion he is a craven, lumbering-lump of lyin lipids. A sunshine patriot who has no business questioning anyone's patriotism and love for their country. I'm a liberal who lost his leg in combat in Nam. I have every right to say that Limbaugh is an overfed, smug, lying, self-indulgent, self absorbed, modern day Goebbels. This corpulent swinish pig is a disease in this country infecting those who whine and moan but refuse to do anything but change channels and turn persecution into an art form. Keep it up Cagle, your my man!

Thanks, Ron, but I must disagree. Rush avoided military service through a cyst on his butt.

I enjoy political cartoons. I enjoy non-political cartoons. I also enjoy a variety of radio talk shows, some newspaper editorialists, and political discussion. You have quite a talent, and I am glad I stumbled across your page on the web. Really.

The Rush thing is probably generating a lot of "hits" for your site. (Good thinking!) I do find it interesting that you would use the person (Rush), with whom you apparently have disagreements in views, for monetary gain. I'm not offended by this, it's just interesting... It gives the two of you something in common.

Many of the comments you've received are inflamatory. I say long live free speech, and those who protect it! You and Rush! It is also interesting to me that Rush is subject to so much personal attack.. Not that I oppose your doing so; he's a public figure by his own choice. But, to the left, more often critics attack the messenger, and not the message. I'm trying to remember the last time a conservative cartoonist led such a focused, personal attack on a liberal talking head (not on a liberal elected official -that's easy).

As for one of your respondents who said we conservatives use poor grammar, (Frances, 10/31/97) her sentence, "Let's give them the benefit of the doubt, and assume it was the dire emotions..." contains an error. Typical. This letter likely has many such errors, but I hope not to be throwing stones in a glass house. Like Rush. Like you.

A good example of a liberal "talking head" who is regularly villified by conservative cartoonists is Jesse Jackson. Jesse has much in common with Rush --Jesse is a self appointed spokesman for his cause, he has a huge ego, he is prone to make racist statements and he is an "honorary" member of congress.

Um, try again. Jesse Jackson is a politician. He won my state (VA- Primaries) in his bid for the presidency.

I was looking for a Gary Trudeau, or Cokie Roberts...

If you're going to disqualify Jesse Jackson because he ran for president we should disqualify Rush because of that cyst on his butt.

I generally agree with Rush, but these cartoons weren't focused on what he's about. (at least not much, other than his lingo) I don't know if that's normal in political cartoons but I don't think so, they normally seem to be focused on an issue.

My guess would be that you can't make fun of Rush's viewpoints (ie because they are correct) so you make fun of him. (displaying to me the recently learned fallacy of attacking the man rather than the issue)

Maybe I'm wrong.

If you really do (and I assume you do) disagree with Rush's logic or conclusions, show how or why you think they are wrong... pointed humor is understandable, even if one disagrees. Highlighting someone's bodily dimensions or their personal problems however, is childish.

Joel

Rush would be the first to tell you that you should never admit that you might be wrong.

Daryl,

Your cartoon about the sun, Rush's brain, and the pea is a stroke of pure genius. Congratulations on the large number of conservatives you've managed to piss off. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that it was the dire emotions your cartoons evoked, rather than poor education, that caused them to send in messages with such lousy punctuation and spelling.

Wishing you a long and happy existence in cyberspace,

Your cartoons are ridiculous. Your web page crappy and your thought processes malfunctioning. If you would clear your head from what ever you have been smoking and listen to Rush you would understand that 99% of the time he is absolutely right. I do have a sense of humor but to attack what the person is like rather than what he says is wrong. Could it be you cant deny his accuracy?

I am just writing to tell you that your cartoons have little class
to them. Now, im no political genius, im only 17 and just at this site
to get some cartoons for a project im doing in US History, but i just
wanted to tell you that if your going to attack some one, dont attack
what they believe. Thats just wrong. People have the right to believe
any thing they want. If your gonna attack Rush, put some class into it.
Dont attack him for being over-weight, but for the things he said that
you dont agree with.

Thank you for the cartoons,

John

Flipper is definatly more intelligent than Rush. The truely amazing thing is how many people are actually stupid enough that the percieve Rush as smarter than they are. Pretty scary!!!!!

All of your facts are true. SO WHAT! Rush still tells it like it is (most of the time - he occasionally goes off the deep end, just as everyone else does). I don't listen to him very ofter, though I used to, when I was still employed, but I still agree with most of what he says because the facts are the facts. I don't consider myself a ditto head nor a follower of anyone. I attempt to view the facts that I am able to find, in the media, or anywhere else, then I make up my own mind as to which way I will go or what I will do.

Your cartoons are excellent, though a little slanted. Thanks for the service you are doing for the world.

Incidentally, I am DEFINATELY NOT a Bill & Hillary supporter and DO believe that they should have been jailed for WhiteWater, among other things. They make me ashamed to be a U.S. citizen. I will sleep better when they are history. ENOUGH!

Thanks again for the service,
Bob
