Paul
Murry Web extras
As readers
of Hogan's Alley #12 know, Paul Murry was an incredibly prolific
cartoonist, so we could only include a small (but lovely)
fraction of his work in the issue, Here,
however, are more of his cartoons. WARNING: While tame by
today's debased standards, some of these cartoons depict scantily
clad women. Don't say you weren't warned.
The editors of Hogan's Alley would like to thank Germund
Silvegren, who wrote the article for our print edition
and generously shared his collection with our readers.

Mort
Walker Web extras
After
reading Craig Shutt's
article on the staggering global popularity of Beetle Bailey,
you've no doubt begun to realize that it's Mort Walker's world;
we just live in it.
Thanks
to Mort Walker and his assistant Bill Janocha, we've put together
this selection of international Beetle memorabilia as well
as some of Beetle's appearances in American comic books. This
should serve to remind you that not ALL American servicemen
are disliked overseas!

John
Sutherland Web
extras
We've
selected eight of producer John Sutherland's
mini-masterpieces of instruction, discussed in issue #12's
story by Mark Arnold. (A
ninth cartoon is also among our selections, although it's
not a Sutherland cartoon--it's just one of our favorites of
the genre.)

Small
Fry Web extras
We showed
you Al Capp's "Small Fry" strips in issue #12, along
with Jay Maeder's story detailing
cartoonists' heavy involvement with fundraising for the U.S.
government in World War II and afterwards. Here, you can see
the strips in color, as readers originally saw them!
