The Best Political Cartoons of the Year,
2005 Edition!
All of the cartoonists on our site
contributed over eight hundred cartoons, on 288 pages, covering
the major topics of the year 2004. Our annual book is organized
like our web site, with a chapter on each major topic of the
year. 2004 was an important year with the presidential campaign,
the war in Iraq, and terror everywhere: terrorists attacked a
Russian school, killing scores of children, and terrorists bombed
trains in Madrid, influencing Spain's presidential election.
But there was more to 2004 than war, terror and politics. We
saw the Olympics in Athens and the Red Sox won the World Series
for the first time in 86 years. A bizarre series of killer hurricanes
battered Florida and the Gulf Coast. Bill Clinton came back into
the public spotlight with both a book tour and heart surgery.
Martha Stewart went to jail. This was a Renaissance year for
cartoonists.
Noteworthy icons passed from the scene, from Ronald Reagan to
Ray Charles, Rodney Dangerfield and Yasser Arafat. For President
Ronald Reagan and all those who passed away this year, we include
a special collection of memorial cartoons, along with a foreword
by the president's son, Michael Reagan. News junkies and cartoon
fans won't want to miss this great cartoon history of the year
2004. Dejected Democrats will be consoled with our foreword by
Howard Dean.
It's last year's book but the cartoons are as fresh as can be!
