INK BLOTS by ED McGEEAN Meatloaf Night With Brewster A new comic from United Feature Syndicate, "Meatloaf Night with Brewster" is a real dog. Which only means that the lead character, Brewster is a dog. In addition to Brewster, a diary keeping mutt, the strip also features a kid named Clark, his sister Boo and best-friend Stewart and is set in suburbia. The daily and Sunday comic strip created by Mark Buford debuted Sept. 29 in more than 50 newspapers, including the Detroit Free Press, Minneapolis Star-Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle and Seattle Times. Buford, a Georgia native who resides in Atlanta, is an office manager for an architectural firm and moonlights as a part-time stand-up comic. His hobbies are jogging, reading and playing bongo drums. He began cartooning in the fifth grade drawing teachers he hated, whose heads usually exploded in a massive cloud of chalk dust.
