The list of failures surrounding the rollout of Obamacare has grown too long to list. Millions of policies canceled, people forced to pay higher prices, and others downgraded to part-time. If you like your health care, too bad for you. It is, therefore, a mystery as to why anyone – Republican or Democrat – would think a massive overhaul of our immigration system is a good idea.

Gary McCoy / Cagle Cartoons

How can anyone trust the government – especially the perennially incompetent Obama Administration – to fix our national immigration mess? This government couldn’t even build a proper website, how can they secure the border? Think about it: the only thing that has managed to stem the flood of illegal immigrants was the recession. Further, we all know that Obama is already enacting amnesty on his own, ignoring the law when it benefits him politically.

Given all this, how can regular Americans trust that the government will secure the border and stop the flow of illegal immigrants into their communities? The sad reality is they can’t.

President Obama has a long and sordid history of ignoring laws he doesn’t like and acting outside the law whenever he finds it convenient. He doesn’t support robust border security, so you can bet that as a second-term lame duck he won’t build a single foot of additional border fence. His administration can’t make his signature reform work properly, so there’s no evidence this administration will be able to find, sort, and process millions of criminal aliens after a reform bill is passed.

Think about it for a minute; the government has no idea where these approximately 11 million illegal immigrants are. If immigration reform passes how is the government going to find all these people, sort the serious criminals from the minor ones, and then keep track of them as they work their way through the amnesty process?

The federal government is incapable of building a simple website that lets people buy health insurance, a task it had three years to complete. There is simply no way it will ever be able to competently handle the complex and costly process of granting any kind of conditional amnesty to 11 million illegal immigrants. It shouldn’t be granting any kind of amnesty at all, but if it tries imagine the disaster it will foist on the American public. No good can come of this.
