You can go ahead and trash all of those expensive paint brushes you own.
The New Yorker has put on its cover a painting by longtime contributor Jorge Colombo. But forget about paint and canvas; Colombo drew this week's magazine cover using Brushes, an application on the iPhone.
"“I got a phone in the beginning of February, and I immediately got the program so I could entertain myself,” says Colombo, who first published his drawings in The New Yorker in 1994.
Colombo made a video of his iPhone painting using another app called Brushes Viewer, which enables the artist to replay the steps involved in thier Brushes painting, stroke for stroke. It even exports them up to 1920 x 2880 resolution.
And according to the New Yorker, we can look forward to a new drawing by Colombo each week on their website.
